Post-Pandemic Hobbies Trends

After being in a state of “apparent death” caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism and creative economy (parekraf) sector in Indonesia continues to grow. Interestingly, the reviving tourism sector has created a different trend of traveling than before, focusing on creating quality hobbies.

People’s Travel Habits Have Changed

In Indonesia, a 53.6% increase in road trips was reported at the end of 2021 compared to 2020 (Indonesia Statistic Bureau, 2022). Along with the growing interest and concern for local tourism, road trips are projected to become a popular travel option this year. Aside from being proven safe and comfortable, road trips offer a flexible schedule and adventure opportunities for passengers.
